Eternal is the antithesis between light and dark, between the Sun and the Moon, as part of the very flow of existence. There are many allegorical meanings attributed to the necessary relationship between the two elements, which exist one as a consequence of the other and vice versa. The Alchemie T lamp (designed by Giulia Archimede for Catellani & Smith) thus becomes a field of investigation for this opposing dimension which has always, and forever, been linked. Alchemie T is a precious sculpture composed of two discs: one is in alabaster, fixed and illuminated by LEDs, while the second, in brass, slides on the base with a slight gesture of the hand. The interaction between light and shadow reaches its peak in the moment in which the two disks overlap, as if to give rise to an eclipse.
