Needoo is a new project that puts the environment first. Consisting of a bollard and three different poles, it offers perfectly controlled light that respects nature by illuminating only what is strictly necessary. At the top of the pole is a bird shelter. The light head is positioned under the nest and consists of a plate that shields the light and forms a surface on which the small animals can rest. It combines an attentive approach to the perceptive needs of man and animals and that speaks of respect and sharing of spaces. Birds must be able to orient themselves using their natural reference points which are the night sky with the stars and the moon. Needoo's controlled light does not interfere with this perception and does not dazzle them. The carefully designed optics, their positioning, the quality of light and its control through integrated sensors help to ensure a harmonious coexistence between man and nature, respecting the circadian rhythms of each species and a positive energy balance. The interaction between light, man and nature is guided by intelligent programming that calibrates the intensity of the light based on presence, using a gradual progression that does not create annoying contrasts. Needoo is not just an outdoor lighting system but above all a place ready to welcome biodiversity. Needoo is the perfect system to help animals in our contemporary spaces, offering adequate shelter in parks to help repopulate urban areas with different species, enriching our quality of life. As indicated by numerous studies, the lack of nesting spaces is one of the causes of biodiversity loss. Needoo is meant to be a small but practical step, an action to help reverse this worrying trend. The Needoo project has opened a collaboration with Birdlife Swisse on all aspects related to the behavior of different species.
