Metaphor is born in the full creative atmosphere of the early 80's, when Gae Aulenti assumes the role of artistic director within FontanaArte and decides to bring the glass back to the center of the company's business. Called by Gae Aulenti, Umberto Riva designs a precious table lamp, made up of a tapered glass opal diffuser, supported by a transparent glass base that encircles the metal frame, all in engagement. A highly decorative object, produced with traditional production techniques such as glass blowing, typical of artisan craftsmanship, nowadays reproposed to a public always attentive to the originality of design and its timeless expressions.
